China in her hands
Studio 56’s Salon director and co-founder Angela Simmons received a prestigious invitation to add her expertise to a London fashion show this month. After heading up to the capital’s five-star Landmark Hotel she got busy backstage at the EVE catwalk event showcasing leading Chinese talent as she explains.
“It was an honour and very exciting to get a call from Brandan O’Sullivan, the Ambassador for The British Hair Team asking if I’d help out backstage with the added bonus of watching the show afterwards. The team is made up of expert stylists from around the UK and it was lovely to represent Dorset and see some familiar and new faces. The style we created was Game of Thrones’ inspired and involved diffuse drying the models’ hair to add volume and texture before twisting the sides into a low ponytail and using a piece of the model’s own hair to wrap around the base. It is a classy, feminine style that would work well dressed up for a summer wedding but in this instance provided low key drama and elegance without detracting from the striking outfits.”
Angela has been approached to get involved similarly at shows in Paris and Milan, if the demands of running a busy salon permit, so watch this space!
